Senior Creator Manager
Account: GAP
Department: Creator Services
Location: New York
About Buttermilk:
Buttermilk is an influencer marketing agency that builds impactful campaigns through strong creator relationships, thoughtful strategy and excellent execution. We bring brands and creators together in ways that feel relevant to the people and communities they reach.
Role Overview:
As Senior Creator Manager, you will be the client’s trusted, go-to partner for all things creator and influencer. You will bring a deep understanding of the US creator landscape and a sharp feel for culture to every brief, helping clients turn ideas into creator partnerships that are relevant, credible and effective. You will lead creator strategy and delivery across Gold-tier clients, manage relationships from discovery through activation, and guide Creator Managers to do their best work.
What you’ll do:
Be the client’s creator partner. Build confident, collaborative relationships; bring ideas to the table; respond thoughtfully to feedback; and help clients make clear decisions about creators, platforms and campaign direction.
Bring culture into the work. Spot the creators, communities, conversations and platform shifts shaping US culture. Turn those observations into timely, well-judged recommendations, with a clear sense of what fits the brand and what will resonate with an audience.
Lead creator strategy and discovery. Shape creator approaches from the brief onwards, then lead research, vetting, outreach and selection across mid-tier, macro and VIP talent.
Build lasting creator relationships. Lead communications, negotiations and contracting, and create a positive experience that encourages creators to work with us and our clients again.
Own campaign delivery. Oversee creator activity from sign-up through to live content. Keep teams, clients and creators aligned on timings, deliverables and expectations, and address issues early.
Protect the quality of the work. Review creator recommendations and content for brand fit, quality and compliance with client requirements and relevant US disclosure guidance.
Use performance to make the work better. Track delivery and campaign results, maintain accurate dashboards, and turn creator and performance insights into practical recommendations for clients and internal teams.
Lead and develop the team. Manage and mentor Creator Managers, set a high standard for creator work and client service, and provide clear support on priorities, quality and escalations.
Share what you know. Keep the wider team close to changes in creators, platforms and culture, and share useful examples and learnings from your work.
What you’ll bring:
Deep knowledge of the US influencer landscape. You understand the talent, agencies, platforms and creator communities across the US, and can make informed recommendations from an active, well-maintained network.
A real feel for culture. You are curious about what people are watching, sharing and talking about. You can recognise a meaningful trend, understand where it is coming from, and judge whether it is right for a brand.
Strong social media fluency. You use social platforms confidently and understand how creators build audiences, how formats and norms shift, and what makes content feel native to a platform.
Client-facing confidence. You enjoy working closely with clients, can lead an open exchange of ideas, and can explain your point of view with warmth and conviction. You are comfortable guiding a conversation when the brief or recommendation needs to evolve.
Creator relationship experience. You have a track record of building trusted relationships with creators and managing partnerships from first contact through delivery.
Agency and campaign experience. You have worked in a fast-moving influencer marketing or creator agency environment and can manage several campaigns without losing sight of detail or quality.
Leadership and organisation. You have experience supporting or managing colleagues, setting clear expectations and helping a team deliver well. You are organised, proactive and calm when priorities change.
A genuine interest in fashion and fashion trends. The ability to spot emerging movements and understand how they connect to creators, audiences and wider culture.
Music interest is a bonus. An interest in music and its relationship with creators, fans and wider culture is welcome, but it is not essential.
